I am available for talks and workshops at primary schools or libraries. The topics cover writing and illustrating of children’s books, and general illustration for children’s products.
I have a huge variety of topics which I can workshop with children (target audience aged 4-9). Activities might include:
• Book readings (from one of my 26 children’s books)
• Writing rhyming verse/poetry (backwards!)
• How to draw cartoon animals (especially Australian wildlife)
• Designing your own treasure map
• Making origami (inclusive of eyes, beaks, feathers etc!)
Workshops are designed to encourage children to find their individual creativity, explore different artistic styles, and most importantly, to appreciate that writing and drawing can be FUN!
Above photo shows me at a recent (3 session) workshop. The librarian/teacher Angela Hansen had these kind words to say:
“Bambi was very engaging with the students. She had lots of props and interesting things for them to touch and see. Bambi was very flexible with the content of her sessions and even made some special activities to connect with our Inquiry Units”
Appearance costs. My charges are based on the standard ASA rates, but can be modified if the visit is combined with the opportunity of book sales (currently the newly released Fart Patrol series). Please feel free to contact me to discuss.
